Mark Baldwin, Executive Director
Mark Baldwin began his career in community development in 1980 designing and implementing social and economic development projects for the Brothertown Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. This work included securing funds to research and document the tribe’s history from 1600 to the present and designing an affordable housing program that resulted in the creation of a 26-unit senior housing development. Mark has worked in program development, communications, fundraising, and community development for a variety of nonprofit organizations in Wisconsin and California. For the past 14 years, that work has been in the affordable housing industry. During this time he served as Director of Communications for Merritt Community Capital Corporation, a nonprofit investor in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit projects. He also worked as Director of Development for the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County and Director of Fund Development at the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation. Mark has served as a neighborhood advocate for Oakland’s Laurel District, spearheading marketing and outreach activities for the Laurel Village Association and launching a Summer Solstice Music Festival. He has a B.A. degree in Mass Communications and is completing a certificate program in Nonprofit Management at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
